Vehicle Blowers

Vehicle Blowers

Vehicle Blowers - VR142 shown in enclosureThese blowers are mounted on lorries or trailers and used for pneumatic transport of granules, powders, meal and pollard etc. Mostly used in the agriculture, building and food industries, the required output capacity usually is within the range of 500-800 m3/h, and the operating pressure difference of up to 800 mbar.

VR Blowers are designed for horizontal or vertical airflow.  For horizontal airflow the blower may be suspended from the vehicle chassis by side plates bolted to the port faces. For vertical airflow, the blower can be platform mounted on either port face.

They can be driven clockwise or anti-clockwise and are suitable for direct pure torque drive throughout the performance range or vee belt drive up to 45kW.

Twin drive shafts are provided to allow scope for the correct alignment of the main driving shaft from the vehicle power take-off.  The grease seal cover on the shaft in use and the protection cover for the shaft not in use are interchangeable.

A mechanically drive tachometer off take is provided as standard and is situated on the rear end cover.

Freely vented air gaps between the air chamber and the lubricating system ensure an oil free air discharge. Shrouding of the air gap ports virtually eliminates the possibility of rainwater contaminating the lubricating oil and grease.

To cater for vehicles standing on uneven ground, he oil level allows for a 15° angle of tilt in all directions.

Casing: The main case and bearing housings are manufactured from high quality grey cast iron.

Rotors: The rotors and shaft of ample rigidity and strength are cast integrally in high tensile Spheroidal graphite iron. They are machined all over including the lobe lightening holes to ensure vibration free operation.

Bearings: Grease lubricated single row roller bearings are used on the drive end of the blower.  At the gear end, an oil lubricated double row angular contact ball bearing supports each shaft radially as well as providing axial location of the rotors.

Gears: Oil lubricated straight spur timing gears are tempered and ground for accuracy, long life and lowest possible mechanical noise level.

For operating in high ambient temperatures or when vehicle discharge times are above normal, a larger capacity oil sump is required and is available as an alternative to the standard oil sump.  This larger sump allows for greater heat dissipation from the lubricating oil and is a standard fitting on all VR Blowers which are known to be destined for export. The blowers are suitable for intermittent operational times of up to 2 hours with the standard sump and up to 6 hours with the larger sump.

Accessories include- protective side and end covers-port ducts- drive flanges-inlet filters- silencers- pressure relief valves.

Hadron VR blowers can be supplied with hydraulic pump and drive assembly.

For foot mounted vehicle blowers apply for details of the Hadron SVR Series.

All blowers are individually tested. Test certificates will be issued if requested.

A comprehensive Installation and Operating Instruction folder is supplied as standard with every blower.

Also available-blower and exhauster performance graphs, temperature curves and workshop manuals.
